Flying this past Sunday
« on: April 10, 2006, 08:32:38 PM »
Well this past Sunday afternoon we got to fly. Arlan, Kreth, Ryan and myself. Arlan had a new guy show up Brent. He flew Arlan's Ukey and did a few loops and over heads. He has not flown for some time. So we may have a new flyer with us. Ryan invited one of his friends and we got him up on a trainer. Not sure if he will be back.
Arlan has a new Shark with a Fox 35. The shark is all black and he is going to trim it out in yellow. It looks very nice. I wishI had a better picture of his shark. These pictures were taken with a video camera and the quality is not that great. Kreth had a little engine trouble on this Streak but got it going.
My SkyRay did OK after a ¼ turn on the needle. It flew great until almost the end of the tank. I will change it out with a Hayes as suggested by someone.
Ryan had some fuel problems, but we found out that his stopper was not very tight in the tank. It should be fixed now. What a great day for flying. We missed a few of our friends, but maybe next time.
Pictures: Arlan with Shark
The new guy Brent.

PS- I called Harlyman while he was flying with Sparky. He could not fly and answer his cell phone at the same time. :P

Paul,
We went flying on Sunday here in Detroit too. We had four of us in attendance. The field was wet and I caught a cold. Colds only last me about three days. Looks like Easter Sunday everybody is going to church and doing family things. So I'm going to see if we can get a posse together for Saturday.

Frank,
Be sure to bring a "picture taking" device next time out.

Pictures man we need pictures!!!!

It should warm up around you neck of the woods by July. We will be in the 80's this weekend.

Take care,
Paul x:)

Paul,
I'll start taking pictures at every session and post them here at the hangar.
Shoot man! We got puddles instead of ice ( how do you spell icesickles?) it's already warm here.

We went Flying in the Kalamazoo area on Sunday. ground was a little muddy at least my knees were according to the wife. We got my two nephews in the air one did better than the other. We have a 1/2a skyray to repair. I also have to repair my Top Flite Nobler. I thought I had taken care of all of the failing hardware. This time the clevis on the pushrod from the bell crank to the flaps failed. Wore clean through the clevis pin. Of course it did this while inverted about five feet up. Stuck the nose in the mud Broke the prop, cowling may be salvageable if not I have one in the shop.
I need to finish my Thunderbird, and Bi Slob.

Hey bud,

You've got to get Propbuster to post another one of his Kick-Butt videos!

Well his camera is busted. I think it is one of those cost more to fix then what it is worth.
We might have to wait until Christmas. :'(

Ryan did shoot a little video, but I have not figured out a way to pull it off onto the PC.
