Flying Models
« on: August 24, 2006, 10:14:47 PM »
This is what I have been flying this summer.  A Ringmaster Junior with a Fox 19 and a Sterling Yak 9 with a 50th Anniversary Fox 35.  I started flying these this summer after being away from the hobby for 25 years.  The Yak is a old kit that I started years ago but never finished until last spring.  The Ringmaster Jr. was bought of Ebay last winter and the Fox 19 was bought by myself 25 years ago but never really used.  I have burned up two gallons of fuel with these models this summer and am having a blast.  I have mothballed the Yak for a while and am now flying a Ukey 35.  The Ukey is a much better flyer then the old Yak.

My friend Charlie Reeves rebuilt a Yak to a Navy Aerobonita (sp?) for profile carrier.  The Yak has some interesting paint schemes, although the Ringmaster is a better flyer due to the better wing location.  Lou Wolgast won OTS at the '87 Nats in Lincoln with his Sterling P-51 Mustang built with no moveable flaps.
