The list of eligible  models for the Musciano events is a pretty large one, but there are some you just don't see for one reason or another.

I would like to know which model/s that have not been to a Musciano event that you would like to bring yourself or hope that someone will be bringing.

Also are there any that are so ugly, poor flying or whatever reason you can think of that you hope won't show up and why! This could be fun.

I don't think I have seen (only in the pictures) one of the Supersonic Missiles. It might be a good one in the speed event.

I measured the wingspan of the Supersonic Guided Missile and it is only 13 inches! I bet it could do well in the speed event. Box shows and claims it can be launched vertically !  ;D

I don't know of an eligible  monoplane that has a smaller span. If there is, I am ready to learn.

Well, it wasn't a Musciano design, but Consolidated's 1/2A Hell Razor spanned 9 inches.

Mike,
A lot of the old 1/2A speed jobs had 9 inch W/S. I flew a Peanut by Warren Kurth with a TD 049. It also had a 9 in W/S. Prop of choice was a Rev up 4/7 and fuel by Franny Wolfe.

Very true Dennis. Planes designed strictly for a speed event generally look the part. Many had the short stubby wings and later a lot had pretty much a long single wing panel that was extremely thin.

The Supersonic Guided Missile designed by Walter Musciano was a fun plane designed with a ground to air defense missile look in mind. I'll get a picture up soon. When he designed it I doubt Mr. Musciano had much thoughts of this one to bee a good one for a speed event or team racing. As I mentioned in the earlier post the box art shows it upright and claims it can be launched vertically!

I have heard that the ME 109 has been doing well in the Musciano speed events.

My point of this thread is that it seems that there are a large number of planes on the eligible list that are not represented in the meets.
I am simply exploring this avenue and want to know if there are (in the eligible list) certain planes you would like to see represented by yourself or someone else.

The bulk of the designs have the standard 18 x 3 wing which ends up with about 51-52 square inches of wing area when the tips are shaped.  These don't stunt much at all.

Four designs, the Golden Hawk, Stuntmaster, Cyclone, and Bullet have about 74 square inches and win most of the stunt events.

The Speed event, a least around here, is always won with a speed of about 63 MPH.  Surprizingly, the 52 and 74 square inch designs can both hit this speed with a healthy engine.  Empircal data shows that a smaller wing does not yield higher speed in this speed range.

There are quite a few odd ball designs that don't fit either of the above: biplanes, the triplane, the B-66, and the missles.  I'm fiddling with a biplane to try and make it stunt, but otherwise, these are only good for the Craftmanship event.

And of course, the F-82 Twin Mustang, which, if you overcome the 2-engine challenge, can dominate Speed.
