Those bidders have a lot more money than I do.  Of course I remember when I thought that was an expensive kit back in the 50's & 60's.  It is a very rare kit with most parts already cut for you.  Have fun,  DOC Holliday

At a swap meet about two years ago, a guy wanted $1000 for the Connie kit.  He also had others of these kits.  Don't think he sold any. ;D

I have a kit of their B-29 that I am in the process of cloning.  I wonder what it is worth?   I also have their plans to the B-36, including a sheet of all the parts drawn off so it can be scratch built.  I recently sold a set of those plans for $50.00.

ONLY 1,224.99??? DANG I missed it!  LL~ LL~ LL~

All seriousness aside, we used ot sell these at Joe's Hobby in Dearborn MI, (heck we probably sold THIS kit) and they used to stay on the shelf forever, at something like $65-$75 or so...

Not model airplanes, but I sold a Shelby GT350 w/o engine for $6000 in 1980, the last one I saw on ebay had an asking price of $415,000!  No regrets though, the experiences I had using the proceeds far exceed any monetary value I MIGHT have now if I hadn't sold it, sprint car racing if you're interested.

1942 Harley 45 I sold for 50.00$ in 1957. Complete with fringed bags, seat, and windshield. You can guess what they are worth now. I have also sold a 55 CrownVictoria black and white Ford, a 59 T-Bird, and two 57 Chevys far below what they would bring today. Hindsight??

The first brand new car I ever bought was a 1970 Dodge "Challenger". Purple w/a black top, 383 4 bar. carb., and 3 in the floor ( shift that is). Now I drive a Yukon. Is that called maturity?

I've got one of these kits. Makes me think twicw about building it!! At the Broken Arrow Contest this past weekend, the gentleman from Florida that was flying the blue B-17 in C/L scale found out that I had the Connie kit and aske me if I want to sell it. I'll really have to think about it. The main problem I see with building it as it is designed, is transporting it. It is a huge airplane, built all in one piece. The only thing that comes off the model as designed is the wing panels out board of the  engine nacels slide off. The rest is one piece
If Some one made me a $1000 offer, or some other serious offer, for mine right now, I would probably sell it. I doubt I would go the eBay route though. Too many unknowns.
I also have the Aristo-Craft Beech Staggerwing from back then, and the Aristo  or Kyosho Grumann F3F biplane fighter. I wonder what those go for?

Dan, whats unknown about selling on EBAY? Lots of us here do it. Pretty much a painless process. Hardest part is packaging up what you sell to make sure of no complaints. Thats where my wife comes into the picture. She does a awesome job of packing.

1959 Jaguar xk-150 sold for 1,200.00 in 1966 when i joined the Marines.  sold this year at Barrett-Jackson for 75,000.00.  I do have regrets about selling that one.
