Dubro Swivel Ball Link Binding
« on: January 24, 2024, 07:01:48 PM »
I have not used ball links to date on my pushrod controls but plan to use them on my future builds or model repairs.

I recently purchased a few NIP 2-56/4-40 Dubro swivel ball links. On the first ball link package I opened, I noticed that the ball did not rotate smoothly within the link. On the second one I opened the ball did rotate freely. I guess my question is if this is a one-off poor-quality link? Have others experienced the same issues with these Dubro links? Obviously, a stiff ball link should not be used.

Sometimes they need a little break in. A drop of plastic compatible oil and stick something through the hole in the ball and work it around. Molding plastic parts to be able to sell them to you that cheaply is not an exact science! You can search the forum about that phenomenon also. Seems to me I remember there was a rash of links locking up in built and flown models, and you might see what brand those were. this was not long after Rocket City folded and their preferred ball links were no longer available.
