Dizzies

There are some of us that get dizzy flying or have problems keeping up with a plane.   I built the plane for the Ringngmaster marathon and for me as I wanted to try and  and get as many take off and landings as my age.  I think it would work for other people, especially new comers.

Doc,
I agree we need a way to shut off the power when we want without needing a full RC transmitter attached to our handle or hip. I think the remote key fob systems that were discussed are what we need. I feel it is not only a convenient way to end when you want but also a safety issue that would allow a pilot to end the flight any time. This could include if the pilot gets dizzy, has a medical issue or if they need to stop the flight cause of spectators being to close on the field.

Best,    DennisT

Think for yourself !  XXX might win the Nats, be an expert on designing, building, finishing, flying, tuning engines - but you might not wanna take tax advice from him.  Or consider his views on the climate to be fact ...

I couldn't agree more.  Surely there has to be a 2.4gh paired system out there somewhere.  We box ourselves in so much.  Thanks to Brett for removing at least one of them with the line rule.

Nice planes, John.  I'm sure they fly as good as they look.

When I was trying out ways to get kids lined up to try flying I found an RC car outfit for ~$27.  It had access to off the wall frequencies that were locked in between a Tx and the Rx.  It worked very well to kill the fuel whenever you wanted.  It wasn't hard to get a kid, mostly boys, involved, at least briefly.  We didn't get many local kids to join in, but I understand other areas had better luck.

Just pick the cheapest RC set.  The trainer outfit was a Li'l Hacker, a half A combat plane.  The one boy, one of the RC pilots kids, did quite well in just a couple of flights.

This still requires at least 2 adults.

Happy New Year.
