Disney World Tomorrow Land flying circle

I got an email today that had a link to the Disney World flying circle and thought I would share because a few of you might have seen this as a kid.

I can never remember.. but I think Disney started on the west coast. Never went to the one out west. But this sure would have been neat to see.

Anyone have any stories about seeing this as a kid?

Paul, is that circle still there?  I think that could get a bunch of people into CL, by seeing those demos.

Disney did start out here on the west coast as Disneyland in Anaheim, CA in Orange County.  Bart Klapinski, who is still a good friend, flew the Cox airplanes three at a time.  I remember standing there at the "Thimble-Drome" circle watching him fly those "little" things; when we went to contests he flew the full size stunters of course.  Then in 1967 Bart won the Walker Cup at the Nats.  Great fun.

What a great topic and thanks for the link.
That's where Bart Klapinski worked. As I was told he would fly two or three Cox PT19s at the same time,help the beginners, fly some "sky tricks" and demo the full line of Cox products.
Bart is a really neat guy and quite probably the most naturally gifted flyer to ever pick up a handle. His skill flying stunt planes is almost supernatural and that's not only my opinion.
Maybe, just maybe that's Bart in the photo. I hope it is.

I was fortunate to get to sit accross the table from Bart at a VSC party a few years ago. I goaded him into relaying some of his escapades at the Disney circles. It made a very memorable evening for me that I will never forget. A really great flyer and a great guy to know. I agree. Thanks for posting.

     Hey, On the last picture where the guy is nealing buy the products, what plane is the white one next to the Pitts Special? It's second from the bottom?
