Cox .049 cross breed
« on: November 30, 2017, 09:48:26 AM »

Some where on Stunt hanger  I read about exchanging T D .049 engine parts with Medallion .049 engine parts and getting a super .049 stunt engine.

However looking in the search box I couldn't find this info.  Who can help?  Thanks a lot

Not sure what discussion you were looking for, but just the day before yesterday I was talking with a co-worker about taking a TD .049 and pulling the venturi body and replacing it with the venturi body from a Medallion .049.  Talking to others in the past, the thought is that you get the more aggressive porting of the TD with the better fuel suction of the Medallion.  Power might fall somewhere between the two.  I've never done it before, but I was ordering parts from MECOA a couple of weeks ago so I ordered and extra Medallion body to do the experiment.  Maybe this is what you're thinking of?

I did this to a TD .09. Installed the venturi body body from a medallion .09. No need to change the shaft.

I keep the Medallion lower end stock and add a TD p/c and Merlin plug head.
Think S.M.A.L.L. y'all and, it's all good, CL, FF and RC!
