contest gone
« on: June 29, 2024, 09:13:21 PM »
Well it looks like we have lost another contest for lack of help Bob Haywood and the Dayton buzzards have been holding the Dayton Cash Bash for as long as i can remember. the club has pretty much dissolved and he has no help running the contest and is throwing in the towel.
so maybe someone would step up and take over so we dont loose another great contest

Sad to hear.  But with no local club it is hard to do or hold get togethers. D>K

I hope they continue to run their October carrier contest.  They have a nice field.

Of all the contest that Dad and I traveled to in the 90s, the only ones left are the Broken Arrow in St Louis, VSC and the Nat's.  The rest have fallen by the wayside.  Reason #39 I migrated to FF.

It takes manpower and that manpower has to really want to do it. The manpower we have left in the hobby is getting older, and less energetic. We have had a few years in the past have had just one or two guys show up. It gets t the point where it's too much work, and not fun any more. I would rather just have a fun day of flying and camaraderie that fly a half assed contest. That doesn't do anyone any good.
