Contest at Auburn this weekend
« on: September 06, 2013, 07:01:32 PM »
Well, I won't be there tomorrow and will only put in a brief appearance on Sunday, but I'm told there is a contest going on. No flying for me. I have some commitments on Saturday and part of Sunday, but I plan to put in an appearance at least.

Howard,

It's not done yet! But the primer is almost all sanded.

Primer is plenty if flying electric Randy! Bring it along.  I'm sure you will get plenty of positive feedback and good tips to take home with you.  See you Sunday.

John, the solution to this problem is to go to one of the all-you-can-eat Indian lunch buffets in Redmond.  Everybody in the buffet line works for Microsoft.  I usually pick the cutest female among them to ask my question or register my complaint.

I missed it (am missing it as I type, for that matter).

Too much work, and a bit under the weather.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

Well, my plan was to go and watch, but instead, I am taking a break from putting a new started in my car. Got the old one out and just got back from Autozone. I'm heading out in a minute to put the new one in. Why must manufacturers bury the thing under panels and such. Took forever to get the thing out.

So you will take it to the dealer so that some guy with all the specialized tools that you don't have will change it for a sizable chunk of money. All in the grand scheme of things.

Hi Bill,

Well, the refrigerator is taken apart and spread all over the kitchen (awaiting parts), the starter is in and even works, the new plane is ready for color (just shot the sealer) and the Seahawks won. Not a bad weekend overall. Just wish I could have made the contest to at least kibitz. Just not my year, that's certain.

Well with the newer cars I just as soon pay someone to do the job than screw it up my self.   Like when the idler pulley for the serpentine belt broke.  The young  guy that fixed every thing for me did it in about an hour from the time he looked at it.  We went and got parts and the engine was running again.   Last time the belt broke it took me most of the day to fix as there was another pulley that had froze up and I didn't see it.   Same as when I lost my brakes.   Yes, I was without a vehicle for a while as it was being taken care of.   A new set of tires and a complete rebuild of the rear brakes including the emergency brake which was non exhistent at the time.  Both jobs worth every penny as to the my patience and the abuse to the car. You should have been there Tim.  Nathan entered Beginner and beat Daniel with one of the Skyray 35s.

Pete,

Yea, sounded like it was quite fun. Sigh...

Hope to be back strong next year.
