CENTRAL FLORIDA FLY-IN, Lake Wales.

Guys,

I have had quite a few questions regarding this year's Central FLorida FLy-In at Lake Wales.  I am happy to know that there is a lot of interest in this event.  We have not yet announced it for the following reason:

Next week the club will decide wheather to advertize the Central Florida FLy-In at lake Wales.

The problem is that Polk County has purchased a portion of our flying field for the constuction of a Firehouse. It just happens to have the main flying circle on it.  We are using it now, but not sure when a fence will appear cuting our flying field in half.  If that happens we would need to cut another circle which using part of the remaining RC runway, and that will require us to close for RC flying on that day.  I need the club's approval to do this.  I will continue to mow the present circle on the chance that we can still use it.

Long story short.......I can't let you all know till about a week before the event which will be held on the Saturday following Thanksgiving.

I'll keep you all posted as best I can.

Phil - Regardless of the outcome of this, I appreciate your efforts to make the "CF Fly-In" happen. Theres alot of stress in not knowing whether your gonna have a field to fly at .... never mind trying to put together an event.

Thanks Phil!  Fly together soon, Larry

Phil:

If it happens, I will be there.  Like I mentioned in my email, I can come down fairly early on Friday to help with set-up.
