Got out today and it was beautiful weather. Only got a few flights up but it was worth it. My Shoestring Stunter was nearly DOA. Stuff shifted in the truck despite very slow and careful driving and broke the whole tail section of the fuselage off. I was most distressed. Fortunatelyi had brought CA and accelerant so I figured "it flies or it dies" and glued it back together. Flew great still. It's only been up once this year so I was REALLY rusty and my confidence was......low. Loops, wingovers, inverted, outside loop and a couple horizontal 8's were pulled off.
Then the biplane. CG is now 3" back (37% of wing chord) with 3oz on the tail. Better but not perfect. Secured the flaps and the change was completed. Pitch response was now fairly snappy. I'm sure it will loop now, but try as I might I just couldn't make myself go for it. Inverted is only half a loop, but couldn't go there either! Was frustrating and comical at the same time.
Both ships now sport 3" wheels and the difference from the 2.5"'s was very apparent on the grass.
Who on this site is a fuel tank expert? I'd like to ask some questions about my tank design.
