Its been a very busy winter, as I have been trying to build as many planes as posible before spring sets in. I will start building a couple of cars that have been on the back burner for a couple of years now. Once the bodies come off the frames, there will be no airplane building for some time.

So in no particular order.
Hemstraught/ Midwest PT-19 with Aero tiger .36 for classic.

Veco Thunderbird with Aero Tiger .36, also for classic

Jetco Shark 45 with Super Tiger .60, also for classic

Ambroid/ Still Stuka Stunt with FP .20, for old time, classic and Clints .25 event

Top Flite Peacemaker with FP .20, also for Clints .25 event

1/2A Hemstrought PT-19, for Larry Renger's Leprechaun event.

Checkmate III (New and Improved) with RO Jett .61. Secret weapon to do battle with Brett, Ted and David

Sterling Flying Fool with FP .20 just for grins

All are just about ready for paint. I start painting the Thunderbird tomorrow, as I race against the clock for VSC.

Larry, (I know you personally) I have NEVER seen anything like this. I have never seen anybody pump out so many full fuselage stunt ships so fast.

Short version, No.

My big push was to get three planes done to leave at Warrens. One old time, one classic, my PAMPA ship and a Leprechaun (Just for you).
This way I could fly commercially to Ontario, rent a car for the weekend and fly back Sunday. Airfares are about the same as if I drove, but a hour flight beats the hell out of a six hour drive.

My 68 el Camino SS 396. I cut the Quarters off last week and have the new ones fitted in place. After the body gets roughed in I'll yank it off the frame and do the whole number on it. Your gonna dig this, the 468 makes 565 HP at only 6000 RPM and 605 FT/lbs torque at 5500. ON PUMP GAS ! 9.75 :1 Cr. 500 ft/lbs+ from 2000 to 6500. My dad is the original owner, bought new in 1968 and I bought it from him after I graduated in '76. I did a body off in 1989 and ran it into the ground after showing it for a couple of years, so it is in need of a face lift.

I also have a 58 Chev Impala convertible that I now have almost every thing I need for restoration when the el Caminio gets done.
I hope I live long enough to finish all th projects I have in Line. I can honestly say that I have never been bored a minute in my life.

Larry: that ElComino should be a handfull. I had a 65 with a 427 400hp turbo 400. When I pulled the small block and added the big block it was exciting to say the least. Dry road were like wet roads, wet roads were like ice and if it was icy you should leave it at home.

It'll be fun to say the least. In the late seventies. I ran it with an L-88. Not much torque but tons of horse power. The motor in it now makes about 470 HP plus a hidden nitrous system. 13.80 on the motor and 13.02 on the jug. This on crappy T/A's. I had a 70 Nova a few years back with an LS-7 running a big roller cam.
10.65 on a nine inch slick. With a couple hundred pounds removed from the front, aluminum heads, aluminum intake, aluminum water pump and a griffon aluminum radiator. fiberglass fenders, hood and bumpers and the battery in the trunk. The weight transfer was incredible. The car hooked up and left like a monster.
Compared to that, the el Camino should'nt be too much of a handfull. But it will be fun!!!

I am single, as of last year, (either the airplanes go, or I go). I am not retired and I do use too much cafine.
As I said, I need to get as many planes built as I posibly can before I start on my cars.

Off the original topic, but I wanted to tell you about a '58 Chebbie we had back about 40 years ago. 348, 3 deuces, gold on gold, Impala Sports roof. It had been a shine car! It REALLY surprised a LOT of people.

I believe the gold on gold was the special edition to celebrate Chevrolet's fiftieth anniversary. Big dollar car right now!!!
Mine has the 348 with the three twos, but since parts are getting harder to find and the Mark 1 big block was not that reliable,
I've decided to detune the 396 in my el Camino and stick it in the convertible, as I plan on driving the wheels off that thing.

Hi Larry,

348/409=spun bearings if turned anywhere near the red line!

Very low revving engines. I had a 409 in a '62 HT and had to be really careful, always stayed below 6000.

I still have my Buttafucco Stunt Team golf shirt from VSC 2001. It's got a red triangle with BS in the middle, and on one sleeve it says (and this is the coolest thing about the shirt) "Fughetaboutit"
It's one of my favorite VSC souvenirs. I think I have some pics of your roadrunner with Joey Buttafuco in the cockpit, on some hard drive, on some computer, somewhere in my house. If I can find them I'll send them to you.
Sorry I can't make it to VSC this year, but I am planning to get there next year.
