This pix has been making the rounds.  I used to work at Joes Hobby in Dearborn, we would have got RICH using this!

My brother's a competition bike racer. His biggest fear is that when he dies his wife will sell his bike for what he TOLD her he paid for it!

I worked for 35 years or so part time at a local hobby shop. it had a sign above the door with the name on it, but the actual name of the business as Uncle same saw it was something else. That was the name on the credit card statement when it came in the mail We got a call from a woman on night asking if that is what the business name of the shop was, and not thinking anything of it, we said "yes". Then she said rather sharply, "Ah ha! Now I've got him!" and she hung up. If I was working the register, I would think that in the old days at least half the customers didn't want the receipt, just so the wife wouldn't accidentally find it. Working retail can get pretty interesting at times!

Wife and I made an agreement before we were married. Both of us having been married before and had issues on how money was handled. We have separate checking accounts, her money is hers and my money is mine, we split the living expenses, she pays the electric and I buy the propane. Everything we own is paid for including our property 2 mini vans and a pickup. Sure saves allot of explaining like did you really need that new lathe or another tractor. As long as the electric doesn't get shut off or we run out of propane in the winter neither one of us really cares what the other spends money on.

Interesting Dan!
In the late 1950's I worked part time (after school mostly) at Ace Hobbies and Crafts in Kansas City MO.  the shop was just up the street from Westport HS.  One evening one of my teachers came in the shop and bought several kits and engines and after paying for them asked me if I would use a marker and cross out the price and put another one below it so it would look like he got a sale on the items.  Being a terribly honest kid, I asked the owner of the shop, Mr. Mac...(Mccleod) if it was alright to do that.  He laughed out loud and came to the counter and marked the boxes like the guy wanted, winked at him and said "make sure she doesn't see the receipt this time!"  True story!

Really, the "A" I got in his math class was earned!   y1
