I'm curious - in 20 words or less can you explain the method to set dihedral as outlined in the instruction book which I'm sure comes with the kit? I'm assuming that dihedral is recommended as is the case in most (not all) of Pat Johnston's designs.  Thanks,  PC  8)

My kit just showed up today.  Wing is built on a jig one panel at a time and is described in the manual.  1" of dihedral per wing panel.  Wow, and I thought it was cool just looking at the plans and the laser cut parts.  This is going to be fun to build - literally!

Pete,
the way Pat normally does his dihedral is as stated, build the wing in halves,, block up the tips. Join the leading edge, sheeting, and spars. Then after that is set, sheet the center section to lock it all in. Pat normally also installs only half the shear webs until after the wing is virtually done. That way he can adjust the wings straightness by using the remaining shear webs to lock it all in place.
For years the rat race had me going around in circles, Now I do it for fun!

I recieved my Spitfire kit from Sam's last week ( great service ); I ordered Brodaks wing jig yesterday. I just finished one of Pat's S-1 Ringmasters and it was a great kit. Lots of parts in the Spitfire kit; a little intimedating but hope to have it done to fly this season.  H^^

Hi Guys,

Could someone describe this kit.  Is it Profile or Buildup.  Engine, wing span and stuff like that.  Also Price would be nice.

Thanks

Started my Brodak kit Spitfire a few weeks ago. Have most of the wing completed. Need controls, b/c and center sheeting. Then on to the rest.  Used the Brodak wing jig and it is really neat. Dihedral was a little confusing at first, but then it fell right into place. Need to take your time at this. I plan on using a Dixon tuned LA .46. Plenty of time to think about paint scheme.

I like it. Neat, clean and fast. Can you send a higher resolution picture? Use my email if necessary.
I am kind of thinking a campaign scheme. But not sure, yet.

Just ask Google about TD 248 and you will get any number of good pics.

Another one to look at is G-FIRE.

Spitfires in genuine non-camo livery, different, easy and attractive.

Cheers, Geoff

Now this is getting tough. Wow! Black Spitfire very nice. This may be the scheme I use (unless another comes along).
