I think Walt Brownell had one at the Nats 2 or 3 years ago set up for electric that he flew in Classic (I may be wrong, not sure if it was the Brodak kit or built from plans).  I met Mr. Scarinzi at breakfast one mourning when there (met for the first time) and he was a hoot, very nice guy.  Took a while to get through breakfast listening to his stories, fun.

If I remember right, Randy Cuberly has flown one at VSC.  I beleive his was scratch built from plans.

It was scratch built from plans obtained from Larry Scarinzi hisself...It flew at several VSC's and was around for over 10 years.  It's still a great flying airplane with an OS LA46 and an APC 11.5X4 prop.

The airplane now resides with Burt Brokaw who was somewhat dazzled by it's flying characteristics and claimed it to be the best flying stunter he had ever flown.  Burt is a top level advanced flier.  It weighs 54 oz.

Larry, by the way is one of the best friends a guy could ever have and one very funny individual to be around.  I still think of the tin cup on his Caddilac, asking for donations for a poor modeler to get home...

I haven't personally seen the Brodak kit but do know that Larry had lots of input and approval of it as it was being developed.
He even got some input from the kid on cowl mounting etc.

No,  John has an airplane that is painted in the same scheme but is not a Blue Angel.  Being an Old Guy and sleepy now a after midnight I can't for the life of me remember precisely which plane it is.  But I do know it is not a Blue Angel, but it looks similar with the same paint job.  Maybe someone else of John himself can tell us what model it is.
I know there are several others around but do not think any but mine has ever flown at VSC.

I think you're right Randy. I don't recall seeing anyone else flying The Blue Angel at VSC.

Mine has been confused with one, but it is actually a Dave Gierke All American Eagle trimmed in Blue Angels livery. It's a great flying design BTW.

Well now in the light of day after a nights sleep...
Lew Corbett, also of the Cholla Choppers here in Tucson built a Blue Angel from my set of plans several years ago and has flown it at VSC, I think several times.  Sorry Lew!
Lew is a good guy and a good friend!  In his spare time he teaches full scale pilots about Flight Safety.
