Source for Norvel parts?
« on: February 10, 2008, 08:44:42 AM »
Anyone know of a source for Norvel parts? My buddy Tom Perry called me yesterday looking for a prop screw. Glad he is feeling better.

The guy I last used seems to be gone. Papa Joe's Model Products.

In this case you need a 3M metric bolt---I think Dubro sells something that will work. I buy hardware from Micro fasteners.

Hey Paul, i too buy the metric screws for the props at Ace Hdwe. and drill out old cox nose cones to fit to the prop. And by the way, i started on that spitfire today from the plans you sent me last summer. Wing is finished, spent the afternoon running the engine for it i thought! OK cub .099, just like my other cubs, as soon as you put on a prop small enough to get good rpm's they seem to vibrate to cause fuel foaming! Anyway will try a norvel .074 this week and then start on the fuselage.  Will post when complete,, later  Ray

Remember Ray that the old Cub engines were not noted for high RPM.  I get all my metric stuff at the local friendly ACE Hardware Store.  Later,  DOC Holliday

No problem with getting the correct size bolt for me either, I just want an original as I like the way it looks.
