I like the cockpit.....
He's "less prosperous" looking now, and has a Marine hat.

Randy,
Is that actually an SV11 or some other variant?

It is one of my SV s  before the SV-11  Bill did 3 of these, Before I sent him the  SV-11, these  were  ST 60 powered, as well as his  first Sv11,  this plane is going to be  N30 legal in a couple of months, so some are interested.  The wing and stab is  basically a SV11, plan-form shape is my SV , has little different moments, great flying  airplane,  Great paint scheme  Bill came up with, I just asked that he has a white base with really  HIGH Contrast trim..  He  did a great  job

Young Bill    LOL  if your talkin about the Belly, that is  50 pounds  down, so he  can't fly a plane  with  too much line tension now, it would carry him off !

Are you keeping him on as a Brother, maybe as an auxiliary, or "Honorary"?

Hi Brett
Yep   even though he is  now   "bellyless"  he  will always  be  a  belly Bro , Grandfathered in  or Honorary status , his big problem now is the lack of counter balance for those over heads   LOL :-)

High aspect ratio design using Randy's stuntcraft airfoil.  Bill built these when he and I were flying three times a week together behind Bush Gardens. I flew all of them and owned the Black one for many years.  Very quick flat turn. Wingovers were scary to watch. I have videos of Bill flying them. Not sure why he quite them. Some have said High Aspect design do not do well in the wind. I flew mine with a ST/56 and it seemed ok in all conditions. I never used it in contest because of the BOM rule.

Hi Ed,  you are correct, the Stuntcraft wings I made for Bill  were high A/R , but not much different than the  SV10 or SV11  A/R, and were the same  airfoil as the SV11, and  if you remember what Bill was flying before, the  LJ and BJ , they were no where near the very hugh  A/R  of those,   Do you still have the Black one?
I have always liked the higher  A/R ships, only problems I had was if you get too high, you get a lot of wind-up in the  winds. The eliptical VECTRA  I flew for 10 years  was high A/R  and  worked very well in all conditions, but again,  NOT as high as the  LJ
Bill would like to get back flying more than he is now, so hopefully we will see more of him, he came to my StuntCamp  this year and flew  a Vector 40

Any pictures of the Black one?

Randy

Randy       Here is the black one. I got this from Bill and flew it a lot but I was starting to use the Juno at this time as my muscle disease was making it hard to fly the larger planes. I gave it away sometime around 1999-2000

Randy      I have pictures of most of Bill's and my planes. A lot of pictures of 1980- 1990's KOI's
Here is the Vigilante as the first one was called after I got it. I think I have all the numbers for it.
I would like to have a 46 size version of this plane as this plane was big.

Hi Ed   Here is another shot of the 45  sized  SV Vector  630  sq in , about 57 inch span, let me know if this is the  size you are looking for, if so there is  also   the  Shrike  SATONA  and  STARIS that are  same size. If smaller  the   SV  wing  system  was developed  to make  any size  wing, and  has the adjust-ability  to vary A/R and thickness, wing span and  chord

Randy I gave away l most of my plans two years ago except ones one sent me. I have Carl's drawing of the sv630 and you made me a copy of the airfoils years ago. Bill's Vigilante had a63- 65" wingspan. Nothing like the later planes. I think the red one still lives in Florida and I think I know where it is.
Ed
NOTE    as I look at the pictures above of Bill and his VIGILANT it may not be the same design as the black VIGILANTE.   He had a red VIGILANTE and it is not the red plane pictured above.
 Sorry for the confusion.

Some of Bill's early SV-11 models had  Dragon art on the nose.

yes the Vector is  N-30 legal as of last year , the  SV11  will be there in a couple years
PIC below is the first one that Bill Rich built

All three  SV airplanes are shown here, you can see they are all high A/R , and basically the same designs, just sized different , by the way I cut the elev. Stab and  wings  on ALL the planes shown below

NOTE Looking at plans and pictures triggered the memory of this short lived plane.
 Randy
I did build a 46 size Vigilante. Most of the planes I built I did not draw new planes but made adjustment on the plans to a similar plane.
These very faint plans are Carl Reichel plans of your Vector 630. They can just be seen in the background. I put a smaller Vigilante wing in the plane with a 22% stab. Span was 61" with same nose and tail as Vector. It was finished in 2001 and crashed in 2002.  The long wing rolled in at me just after take off and crashed. Less than a dozen flights. Maybe lines snagged pavement.  All the original Vigilante numbers are on the plans in very faint pencil.

Hi Ed  Looks   like you had a very good plane there, and did a good job on building it, Hate  to loose one early  Carl Lost his Vector on the first couple of flights due to lack of glue,  by the  way  That plan  I drew 100% , the  Carl plan was  all Auto Cad , I have the Mylar and Velum that I drew it on here in my master  plan box, I also drew  the  APEX which was the  sister  ship of the  VECTOR, and resembled a Stiletto , only  because it used the Stiletto top black
How many flights did you get on it ?

The VECTOR and  APEX  was designed  around a  ST 46 and  FSR 40=45

Regards
Randy

Ed  if your saying you would like to build one, Then I would help you in whatever way  I can,  but  I would  urge  you  NOT to build one 61 in span  for a  ST 46,  Too big for that motor, and you would have a  HUGE amount more  lift than you would ever  need
