Anyone recognize this plane II
« on: March 05, 2011, 05:21:43 PM »
Here is another mystery ship from my box of junk, I have no idea what this is but it used to fly pretty well I am going to fix the horizontal stab the vertical stab the rudder and elevator and use it to try out all my .049's and maybe ny new AP wasp before they go onto new planes since they have been sitting for at least 25 years. The wing is approx 20 3/4 long and 4 1/2 wide the wing is airfoil shaped, at some point a WWizard style motor mount was grafted onto the nose. There is a fuselage doubler on both sides that ends right behind the wing. I was told at one point that it might be a Beginners Ringmaster but I dont think the tail is right for that and I think they had sheet metal motor mounts and the later ones had plastic motor mounts like my Sterling Cherokee had. I thought it might be homegrown but the wing is very well done so I am not sure. T.J.

It [ooks like an original. I dont see a kit with an extra long  tail moment like that looks like it would be really really tail heavy.I could be wrong. I was wrong once when I thought I was wrong    y1    jim

As noted, it looks like you have the Wizard firewall. It also appears that wing is from a Skyray. It looks to me like you have the Wizard Stab with the Skyray elevator. All it needs is bolts sticking out of its neck. Ken

I was looking at my old Lil' Jumpin Bean plans where Goldberg's showed their other kits and I think its a Stuntman 23 with the wing cut down slightly and a Wizard style firewall grafted on. Most of the kids in my club back then used to put Wizard style fire walls on our 1/2A's to keep from breaking the noses off during those sudden stops we were so good at. Our 4-H club leader used to cut them out for us on a band saw at work. T.J.
