Hi All, I am the current owner of the FW 190 which John Tate mentioned above. The original builder and owner , Willis Swindell now deceased, gave it to me in the fall of 1997. I've flown it very hard and very often and it still performs quite well! As to engines mounted it started out with a K & B .40 from Brodak back in the day, went on to FP .40's and Tower .40's, even an OS .48 4C which caused the stab to break on a hard reverse wingover! I am now flying it with an LA .46 on muffler pressure using a Zinger 11 X 5 prop and 10 11 11 fuel with the 10 being nitro methane. This set up has been the very best of all. Plane has had leather fillets added and has been flown many hundreds of flights! It is a winner!
On the other hand I also have a "Brodak" Stuka made by the same late friend which is a morfed Zero of the warbird series! It too is powered by an LA .46 and flies much better imho than the FW 190! Same engine and other items as the previously mentioned plane! It too has had leather fillets added to the front end to add stiffness to the engine runs and durability.
