well the new vector flew pretty good right off the board......got two nice flights in, then on the third a thermal ( I think) picked it up at the beginning of an inside loop, banked inwards, then flew a beautiful arc right into the ground.......now I can run pretty quick, but not fast enough to get tension back......

anyone want a vector wing??

Maybe you just build another fuse and pop the wing back in? Building season is right around the corner for you.

Same thing happened to my Vector 40 arf. Sorry for your lost. Why not buy a one half inch board and make a profile fuse. Easy quick and you will still have a nice looking toy. Just keep the same moments and it should be just great. Unless you are a great builder and need the practice. After I crash them that what happens to mine. Good luck and I hope it works out for you. These guys got some pretty good ideas to put it back together, here is one with very little work on your part. Just send the wing and tailfeathers and the engine to me, I will build a new fuselage and match the paint perfect. I will then proceed to trim it for lets say the next 2yrs. or so and send it back to you. Hows that sound.  LOL

Seriously, that is a bummer. sorry to see it go like that.

Always sad to lose a new plane, especially when there's nothing you do wrong!

Use that wing!  It looks like it is in perfect shape, and either a new full body or a profile will get you back in the air pretty quickly.  Or give it to an up and comer to use for the same things!

Wing has been donated to another flier.....I am currently building a Legacy ( need a spare plane for the competition this weekend coming) and a Drednought..  the legacy is just a quick build...will not have anything flash about it

Arrrh so you did a figure 9 and turned it back into a kit eh!   Sorry for your loss.  One thing I did notice in your picture, it looks as though you had covered the wing before you installed it in the fuselage.  Just wondering, how was it glued in place?  I would normally remove some film to give the glue something to stick too. Perhaps you use a different technique?

The wing was removable.....( take apart) I think that is the only reason it was in one piece....the fuse broke, and released the wing..... pretty good in the fact the wing is OK...not so good that the fuse blew up... HA.....it happens..

what can you do about thermals and wind?

first loop....  3rd flight.... the wind was quite variable, and quite thermally.....(if that is a word) just got a bad case of it all at once!

Ay, yi, yi!! Sorry to see that. Thing about wrecked planes, they're sort of like when you pass an accident on the freeway. It's morbid, but you can't help but to look.

Only thing to do is, like the horse, get back in the shop right away. I once lost 2 planes at the same contest (a classic plane and a full boogie PA plane). I still get a tick when I think about going back to that site.
