Thanks for pointing me to this ad, Elwyn. I remember when it was running... probably 20 years ago or more now. It was always an interesting ad campaign. But, the B-17 appearing from behind the hill was awesome.
Braniff Airlines (long gone now) had a similar ad where a stew was standing at the end of a runway and talking about Braniff's fine (?) services. As she was talking, you realized that dark cloud growing behind her was jet exhaust and a Braniff aircraft was roaring down the runway towards the talking stew. At the end of the commercial, the jet lifted off and passed just over her head. This was a real actress standing on a real runway (but not an active airport). No "blue screen" magic here. Just a brave but very scared actress!!!
Anyone remember seeing it?
