I loved your story.  Very few people really understand our passion.  I will probably never be able to duplicate your journey but it was a real pleasure reading it.  One line I have to comment on because it drew a hearty "LOL" from me and woke up my dog!

Your plane turned out great!  Finishing the model is truly a skill all on its own and the learning process is never really over.
