That was Oshkosh some years ago. I was alongside the runway and watched it play out in person. Air and ground crew were aware of the nose gear problem prior to the landing and the pilot did as good a job as could be expected, very minimal damage and no injuries. It's been back in the air for a while now and I've seen it at OSH again since which is great.  :)

Tim is a really nice guy and a real conscientious pilot, I was so sorry that happened to the Invader. He had it repaired fairly quickly. That’s a lot of dough going out the window there.

I was in a Dash-8 Q400 that landed like that. It wasn't a surprise.
It WAS a very noisy place to be. Attendants hollering "brace brace brace brace"  Lots of screeching by passengers.  4 year old girl VERY unhappy mostly because Momma was screeching loud enough to talk to someone on the Moon. When the nose touched down the volume went eleven.
My first flight in the ten years after September 11, 2001.

In the way to my brother Clayton's funeral.

I read somewhere  that the design specs for a B25 called for the landing gear to be good enough for 25 landings.

Not arguing Dan, but I'd find that pretty hard to believe. Maybe they meant the tire(?), which would still sound like a pretty low number.

 Here's pic from OSH 2018...
