I have a question about insurance coverage of AMA insurance.
In short, will it cover me if I am flying at a non-AMA site?  Example would be a local schoolyard?
Just glad to be here

From the AMA web site:

Value and Peace of Mind:
Flying models is a safe activity, but sometimes accidents can happen involving
people or property. Enjoy peace of mind flying knowing you’re covered with
liability, medical, fire, and theft insurance. This insurance is an outstanding
member benefit that would cost you $1,000 or more to purchase separately on
your own. And you’re covered for whatever type of model aircraft you fly and
whether you choose to fly at an AMA club field, park, backyard, or wherever.
Just
fly for recreational fun and operate within the AMA’s Safety Programming.

I am still going to call AMA and get their answer on the phone.
Just glad to be here

Be assured that your homeowner policy is first in line and AMA WILL make certain that happens.

I would personally be careful flying where you are not supposed to. An example would be like at a local park where there are signs that say by local ordinance, no model aircraft allowed. Such is the case at all the parks where I live. Flying at these locations would be breaking a local law.

If I was breaking the local law by flying there, I would be worried the AMA would not come to my financial rescue.

Another example. The local public elementary school near me has a fenced off campus and there are signs that say it is a closed campus. I take this to mean closed to non-school sanctioned activities. If it were me, I would first contact the school to get permission to fly there.
