Aeromodeller is back!
« on: December 12, 2012, 06:59:24 PM »
Aeromodeller is being published as a stand alone magazine again.  I received my copy of the first new issue today.  It is a beautiful slick bi-monthly magazine, all in color.  More FF than CL, but more CL than two or three issues of Model Aviation.  There is an extensive construction article on Mike Keville's 1/2A profile A-26 Invader.  Also coverage of several major CL contests.  A lot of very  interesting stuff.   They have been requesting CL stuff.   Website is www.aero-modeller.com

Laser cut kits of the A26 are available here in the USA. For those who want to compete in Profile scale full kit size panel line drawings are available.

Very cool news! Great to see a real MODELING magazine and I'm glad it's available in hard copy. I remember the Aeromodeller name, but I don't recall if I've ever paged through a copy.

This is a UK publication, right?

For those who have mobile devices, you can subscribe to the magazine right on your tablet. They also offer the first aeromodeller for free to download and read. I have already done so, and it is definitely an interesting read!

I happen to have a few issues from the mid 80s...
That's great news and I'm gonna get me a subscription.

Marcus,

I must have sold 60 or more on ebay, all 80's. The UK magazines sell quicker for some reason. Some of the USA magazines you can't give away.

I had to toss all my R/C Modeler mags, hundreds of them. Excellence also. Still have a bunch of assorted ones left that are going!

 See anything familiar?

Thanks!

Hi Claudio,

I went to news and on the link on the right it gives you the app to download.  It turns out that the very 1st issue was free until today.  Now you have to subscribe to the magazine to get the 1935 issue for free.  After some investigating, if you subscribed to receive the magazine on the app, it will save you approximately $5-10 because of the lack of shipping costs from the UK.

Hope this helps

Aeromodeler was included in AMI (Aviation Modeller International).

My U/Tronics Control system was reviewed in the April 2012 issue.

That's great news. I have saved several old issues (1960's) and followed it through its existence as a part of the other magazine. Even then It contained good modeling information. I'm going to have a look too. It was a qualityn magazine.

I just can't resist old chaps! The first new edition of Aeromodeller is an absolutely spiffing read. I also note that it has improved the English of some of you Yanks. To do both things at once takes an awful lot of doing!

Now keep it up old fellows!

Regards,

Andrew.

Andrew,

Don't forget other great UK magazines: Radio Modeller, Radio Control Model World, RC Models & Electronics and Radio Control Models,

Hey! It's not my fault I'm a Yank, I was just  born on the wrong side of the Pond. I do wish I was a Limie.  n~  I've been to the UK! Wife and I took a Holiday there!

In my heart I believe I'm British. I ran, collected and restored British sports cars, must have had better than a dozen on and off, for over 40 years. 16 years old, my first car was a TR2 long door.

Restored and kept a Morgan +4 for well over 35 years. I've actually talked to Peter Morgan. I have all the James Bond movies. n~

So, I can understand know how you feel about Yanks.   LL~  LL~ LL~

Certainly just good humor.
