It's been hectic for Linda Bob and I- she'sbusy pitting and I'm in ALL the events. Lots of running to and fro trying to be where I'm supposed to be when I'm supposed to be.
Floyd's Wildman 60 design performed its usual perfect flying, but my Orwick 64's coil blew. Joe Gilbert may have had the same problem, but he couldn't get in a pattern. Anyone want to start a cottage industry making NEW coils that work? I managed a complete pattern in Spark, but had to communicate to the judges I was doing one lap between tricks, just like last year. On que, the coil failed after the Square Loop, but the Wildman with its huge wing glided effortlessly two or three laps in the perfect conditions.
OTS with the same plane on glow got a respectable 300+, beautiful 2x4 break. Next day the pilot had the jitters and even bounced his level flight...not too shabby a score, but far short of any award marks.
Don Hutchinson's MOITLE flw beautiful, the inverted spark Torpedo 32 started easily, but ran afoul about half way throught the flight. It accomplished a nice loop and flew really well...after all, Don built it.
Dee Rice's Ringmaster won the "Pilot's Choice".... I drove a thousand miles to fly his Ringmaster, for about the tenth time! Again, beautiful wx. Gotta' get goin'....its starting to dawn and I haven't even begun to prepare for Classic with my aged "Skylark". I'll fix the typos later,
