I'm thinkin' that the 747 will be displayed just west of the #1 museum building (the one with the Spruce Goose)?
So, that's why there's no longer a pair of CL circles in that location? Just wondering... Steve
My understanding is that they are building a Waterpark attraction where the C/L site is and probably includes the area where the R/C strip is now. Here is a quote from the local paper:
"The Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum was bringing in the first-generation 747, one of its retired cargo planes, to serve as the centerpiece for a water park it is planning to develop on the museum site." end quote
They also have a 747 that they converted to a water bomber- I've seen video of that mutha doing a test drop- amazing. I think they are having some delays in getting it certified with the FAA- flying it low and slow through hills and valleys and then dumping tons of water in a few seconds is probably not in the original Aircraft Flight Manual performace data.
