I never forget that day. In my mind, the Pearl Harbor of my generation.
I always feel like a lot of people seem to treat it like it was just a movie or something, and simply jumped on the patriotic bandwagon for a short time after, that is very sad.
I will NEVER forget.

I know exactly where I was at and thought about it all day and watched the news and associated programs or listened to the radio all day.
I personally feel that not enough Americans really understand what is at stake. This is not the same as Viet Nam but I'm starting to feel the same way as I did then about coming home and not having the support I believe every serviceman and the war deserved.
I believe Viet Nam was lost by too much politics and not enough concern for the final outcome. I'm afraid for my children and their future if this ends the same way.

I can't imagine anyone not remembering where they were or what they were doing when they became aware of what was happening that day.  We must never forget the folk from every walk of life, every corner of the globe, every colour, and every religion who lost there lives that day.  I am sure that all our thoughts are with the families whose lives  were changed forever that day.
I agree with you Bruce, I'm affraid for my children too, and I'm in the UK.  What they did that day affected the whole world, it'll never be the same again, and I for one will never forget.

There are days in all our lives that we will never forget. Days like 9/11 The Challenger explosion, Kennedy assassination and so on. The older you are the more there are to remember. My first such day was 12/7/41. Then VE day then Hiroshima and then VJ day. The list goes on. There will be more days to come. The sad thing is that we older ones see where we have gone in all these years. You could not deface the flag back then. You just wouldn't do it out of respect. Yet we knew we had the right to do it. But who would dare? Only our enemies did such things. The values have changed so much. I hope that the pendulum swings back more to the values of the older days. We would be a stronger country.
Perhaps Robert will pull this message but this isn't about stunt it is about Patriotism. I think as a whole the stunt community people are very good Patriots

I will not pull something like this. What ever happened to the movies that commemorate the 12-7-1941 attack. They use to play but I haven't seen one in years.

I often watch the movies on TV. Recently saw the latest version of Pearl Harbor and have watched the earlier movies in black and white. I spend a lot of my time in my shop and lately my wife Teena has spent a lot of with me while working on some project she has come up with. During thehot summer
days I'll keep th AC on for when we need a break. I got a 42" plasma TV for our 35th anniversary about a year and a half ago and often while taking a break an old movie about WWII , Pearl Harbor, etc. will come on and we won't get any more outside work done until the movie is over, except during commercials. Teena also can't understand some of the attitudes today. Her father was 100% German and fought for the USA. We keep learning more as she researches her family back ground through the internet as she has made many connections with distant relatives and flew back to Oklahoma to see some of them last January.

Sorry,I guess I'm just too pasionate about this subject.

GOD BLESS AMERICA,

Not to take away from the 9/11 event, but all of the above is one of the main reasons I'm such a Warbird fanatic, especially the WWII stuff. Other than the fact that they are just cool airplanes, this is why I build primarily Warbird models, and also adapt military schemes onto almost everything else I build. Never having served myself, I kind of consider it one of my ways of paying tribute to all the Vets who have served. You're always proud of the accomplishment when you look out to the end of your lines and get to watch that new model out there, but for me it's even more so, because it's usually a military plane.

Thanks to all.

I flew from Orlando to Dulles airport this week on the morning of 9-11. At church the day before we were all given American Flag stickers in the bulletin. There was also a stack on the table by the door, so I grabbed a few extra.

I wore the sticker on my shirt over my heart when I left the house, and anyone who asked about it got one from my little stash. The security screener in Orlando, the gate agent taking my boarding pass, the guy next to me on the plane, and the local manager for my company when I arrived at the office.
One thing I noticed is that when I handed them the Flag, every one of them took it , looked at it and paused. I could see the memories flicker across their faces for a moment. It was very moving, and I'm glad that I had the foresight to grab a few extra. I wish I had 1,000 and handed one to every person I saw that day so they too held the Flag and spent a moment to remember that day.

My daughter met me at the door that morning as I arrived home from work.  They had discontinued the CNN broadcasts at work a coiuple of weeks prior.  I sat and watched the whole episode and still wonder why any one is against what our president is trying to do.  I don't think our government is doing enough.  This should have been taken care of years ago.  I still say pull all our troops out of the countries that are against us and put them on standby.  Then give the Air Force, Navy and Marines that fly the right equipment, permission to have target practice until the last terrorist is sent to their reward.  My beliefs, so I guess I am not such a good Christian.  DOC Holliday
