3 progress pics Continental
« on: June 12, 2008, 10:04:27 PM »
I will go to clear this Monday. All thats left is a little touch up on the blue and the ink. I don't think I am going to get too crazy on the ink lines as the original didn't have that much. Thats as far as I can remember from 35 years ago. "Norm" how did I do?

Sparky,   too me that looks perfect.  20+ points from me anyway.  Hope it flies as well as it looks.  DOC Holliday

Thanks Doc but it doesn't matter what I get for this. The thing I get out of this plane is a memory of my youth.

Robert - Outstanding! You've done yourself and your friends memory proud.

I was looking for a top and bottom shot of the rear fuse on the new one to see if it was as narrow as the original one... looks pretty close for an enlarged version. I'm guessing there's no ball-link's in the back end of your skinny fuse! I don't even know how you put standard controls in! Talk about cramped! I'd have set fire to it a few times with the soldering iron trying to work in that space.  b1

These days I end up shoving a spacer in the back of all my fuse's when pinching the two fuse sides together these so there is decent room to work.

If Phil is reading this, he may have to re-name his Skinny Diva to Jenny Craig!  And if Phil does that, my new ship will have to be reclassified as a Zeppelin! LL~   ~>  S?P VD~

Great looking ship!!!  #^

How did you do it? Sign Mask, stencil

Was it a single mask for each wing panel?
If so, what did that cost?

The sign shop charges me $20.00 for what ever I want. I did by the roll of mask up front for $150.00

So name and numbers and checks $20.00 labor

Each wing was one mask.
