Thanks for one of the greatest write ups I have seen of VSC.  I too miss attending.  But life and old age keep interfering.  Also thanks to all who make it happen. D>K H^^

THANKS for the great article including all the pix!  VSC is one of the great events in stunt and it’s a joy to attend & participate. Personally, this was one of the greatest events I have ever experienced.

Debbie & I are still on the road continuing our western & northern loop, should be home soon..!

...Personally, this was one of the greatest events I have ever experienced...

Let's see... A 3rd in OTS, a 3rd in Classic, a 2nd in Ringmaster, Your framed CL handle from 1972 returned to you, and the prestigious "Keeper of the Flame" award. I'd say you had a pretty great week. Congratulations!

BRAVO! BRAVO!  BRAVO!

Bar none the finest CLPA Competition Report I've ever seen/read/ enjoyed!

Sure makes this old geezer try to remember why he wasn't there!  Probably because he's in the "Clan of The Eighty  Plus" contingent and his many "stunt ships" are collecting dust hanging on the den walls or from the ceiling of Shareen's "car garage/stunt guy's work shop/stunt ship squasher facility" rather than doin' what they were designed and built for doing...flyin' stunt tricks on wires!

Fond memories of Great People and highlights of grand times spent with them.  Thanks for sharing.

Yes, build another Nobler. I will finish mine, then we can have Shareen run over both of them!

Charlie Reeves did attend VSC this year.

He had airplane difficulties before the contest and sat out.  It was wonderful to see him again.

Kudos to Dennis for a fine report

Mine absolutely is set up for a Fox 35, a late 70's version that has had about ** 40 gallons ** of fuel through it.

it is also set up for a 25FP, of course

Some "modern" stunt persons might be surprised at how well a Nobler would fly with that little Fox if, instead of a four stroking Fox 35 with wide blade 10/6 and a pilot whipping every corner, we simply put an appropriate low pitch prop that the Fox could spin at ten grand or so, shrunk the lines by a couple feet and tried again how much different the resulting pattern might be!  That little Nobler would be a different animal if utilized with a modern power train!

i think.....

Ted

I think we've learned a bit since we thought a four stroking fox and a wide blade 10X6 was the last best word for a good pattern!

The 25FP is *plenty* of power. Taming it down is a bigger problem than "not enough".
