Stiletto 700 picture / info consortium .!
« on: September 05, 2019, 10:38:15 PM »
Seeing it came up , in N30 , thought Id be a smartass and see how many picture we can corrolate . Might be enough to get something on paper , with a bit of dimensional info .
Theres a few details & a few usefull pictures in the Stiletto Chronical Stunt News . Good shot of the nose .
IF the Foam Templares were still around , Id think it wouldnt be beyond the bounds of reason .

   It looks like the 700 has a bit lower aspect ratio, am I correct? Or is it just a distortion of the photo on the computer?  I never did get to read all of Les' story in Stun News, I think it was 5 installments long! Is it explained in there?

  Hey Bob;
   Am I correct in my guess that the 700 wing has a wider chord? If you have the templates I can check measurements against what I have, plans and kits of the most common versions and have an interest in the 700 also and will keep track of this thread. It's one of the prettiest designs concepts to ever do the pattern.

What'd help is if anyones got some photos of The STILETTO from the 1975 Season . Thatll be the 700 .

In the artical Les says the 600 had a narrower chord , thicker wing , less depth in the fuselage .
Theres a nice clear sideshot of the nose there , with the dual moulded ply air side outlets , etc.

as Les states he used brown paper for plans & templates I assume a lot of the shapes & dimensions were passed on to the 660 .

the 700 being the predecessor -  660 being for the 76 season , onward .

Doubt anyone'd complain if there pictures of les's planes that ARNT the 1975 - 700 are posted . But we wont complain if they ARE the 1975 - 700 Either ! .

These are ' borrowed ' from Pat Robinson , on stunt hanger here , via trawling google pics . Ive none of my own , being in ' distant parts ' .  H^^

The ' Stiletto Chronicle ' starts in the September / October 2009 Stunt News . Theres TWO pictures of the 700 in that issue .
Tho I think the relevant info & pictures are in the third part , so Jan / feb 2010 .

Heres info on the ' forign owned ' one , Id mentioned . A I beam 660 by the looks .  Stiletto  No 11 apparently .

   Gordon;
 It has already been established that the 660 is an significantly different airplane. Walter Umland has a nice kit available. I'm interested in the differences in the wing as far as chord and airfoil.
