The passing of Bert Metkemeyer, designer of the Trianic.
« on: September 11, 2013, 07:35:11 AM »
Hello Allen,
With sadness and regrets I have to report the death of Bert Metkemeyer, designer, builder and pilot of the Trianic series of stunt models, 1978 F2C World champion, several times F2C European Champion and all-round nice person. He died at his home in Amsterdam, this afternoon. Cause of death was cancer.
We are trying to cope with his loss.
Kind regards,
Henk

That is very sad news as I would follow him  and his brothers doings in F2C.

With Paul Tupker gone in Nov. 2009 already, I've lost both my stunt mentors now.

We started our nationals last weekend with a minute of silence.

Last man standing is Louis van den Hout, I had the pleasure to judge alongside of him, saturday and sunday.

We shared some memories of when I was still a rookie and these 'Big Boys' had their acts together big time.
They really encouraged me and gave me excellent advice.
'If you think there's something about my English, you're right. I'm Dutch... '
But I DO play Stunt and I DO fly Bluegrass.
