Very sorry to hear that.  Fact is, those in our age group are disappearing at a rather rapid rate lately.

Assume you meant "defibrillator".  Excellent idea.  Anyone on-site there medically qualified to operate it???

Hi Mike.
All the new defib machines made for use in public places are for the general public to use.  They have voice instructions and picture directions on how to use them.  When you turn it on, it tells you what to do next.  They are now commonplace on airliners, in shopping malls, and major sporting venues.  Extremely easy to use, and very effective.  Used in conjunction with CPR, (which is now being taught chest compressions only, no mouth to mouth) they have saved numerous lives already.  Having spent 40 plus years in the Fire Service, it is amazing to see the survival rate now compared to when I started.

Was no one there  with CPR training to keep him going until the EMT's arrived?

Myself and a couple others did cpr for 10 minutes plus.   Unfortunately I saw his pulse go into an arythmea which is when you need an aed to bump it back to a standard rythym.  No aed was available to us.
I do hope the club membership agrees to buy an aed for the flying site.  I never want to do cpr on someone again.  Take a look at this website www.aedsuperstore.com. its kinda like a Hobby King website for aed's.

If you ha e not taken a community cpr class recently please do.  They are only a couple hours long and cost is minimal.
I am attending a class today.
