I think he was born in Texas, IIRC, maybe El Paso or Abilene or someplace like that..He went to college in Texas and lived most of his adult life in Texas. You can say he was a Texan for sure!

Elizio: go to the main forum and scroll down to the catagory that says Stunt Hangar Hall Of Fame. The very last entry is for George Aldrich.

The following was just posted on the Stuka Stunt Works forum.

The October 2001 issue of Model Aviation, page 131 printed a short tribute to Geroge Aldrich written by Sandy Frank, the District VIII AMA Vice President.

"...George Aldrich of San Antonio, Texas succumbed to bone-marrow cancer on July 4, 2001. Born in South Texas in October 1932, his life's story exemplified the meaning of the word 'champion.'...Gone but not forgotten, George, we will miss you!"

Thanks Keith as he was one of my heroes as well as you.  Haven't done anything to the TA-152 lately as every time I touch it something breaks.  Later,  DOC Holliday

Being a Texacan and a George Aldrich fan, he was born in South Texas and lived in and around San Antonio most of his life. I learned a lot about freeflight from him as he allowed me '' to chase his planes on foot and bike. Ron.  AP^
