Saito 40 Vibrations
« on: June 27, 2009, 11:08:29 AM »
Hi guys,

Have you guys had any luck getting rid of the vibrations the Saito 40 creates?? The Saito 62 doesn't seem to vibrate as bad as the 40. The Saito 62 is a power horse but the Saito 40 doesn't seem to come up to par. I can fly my Saito 62 on 87' lines and the engine didn't seem to mind how long the lines are.(The Saito 62 flys my Strega) I know ya only suppose to fly on 70' lines, I had a set of line that was suppose to be 70' lines, turned out to be 87'. The Saito 40 didn't seem to like 63' lines. The Saito 40 is a nice running motor,IMO not enough power.(The engine ended up on a super clown and the plane wasn't strong enough to take the vibration). Yes tried different props, balanced, run at required RPM'S. Love the Saito 62, don't like the Saito 40. I still have one new Saito 40 setting in the box, pretty motor, Gary

Hi Gary, I'm running Saito 40's on a 576 Sq/in Ringmaster and a 560 sq/in Shoestring (P-40 wing) and power isn't a problem.. If you are expierencing shaking the only thing I can think of is you are trying to run it outside it's happy zone 8100 - 8600 RPM.

For some interesting reading follow the links... including the ones in the threads..
