Running-In my New Saito .56
« on: January 04, 2011, 06:38:33 AM »
Hello friends.

I need your help on my new Saito .56.
I have it on test bench to be run. It turns out that the engine only starts if you put a few drops of fuel into the carburetor after that to.
I use R / C tank and the connections are maded well.
When I put it to work with a few drops into the carburetor, I do not see fuel coming out of the tank by the feed tube.
Symptoms are clogging, but because the engine starts, accelerates and stops followed. That is only spend what have inside.
I close the carburetor with my finger, turn the prop and pull the fuel and just so it comes out!
The carburetor is the Berringer to CL.
I did a survey to all tank tubes and disassembled the entire NVA and checked whether there was obstruction and nothing.
Inclusive took the needle out and the engine still does not pull anything. ???

It is not the first time I use the Saito.56 and other times it never happened.
Have any idea what is going on?

I was very thankful if some one can give me some tips.
Kind Regards,
José Almeida

Really kinda hard to help without hands on.. If it isn't drawing fuel it can only be a couple things, from what you have said I would look for an air leak. Are you running muffler preasure?

Jose, I am not familiar with a Berringer cl carb but I am very familiar with Saito engines in RC applications. If you have the RC carb, I would try that on your Saito, if it runs with the rc carb, look at the Berringer, if it does the same as it did with the cl carb(won't run past the prime) , look at the tank and plumbing or better yet, try another tank if you have one. Also Saito engines thrive on 20-20 fuel all synthetic. Also you should check for a good seal at the o ring . Bob

You could hook up muffler pressure then cover the exhaust outlet with your finger and pull it through compression. That should force fuel through the pickup tube. If it doesn't, then there pretty much has to be a leak somewhere.
