Props for Saito 40 (Link)
« on: June 30, 2009, 09:42:48 AM »
As some of you that have been following my Saito 40 posts know, I've been looking for a readily available prop to replace the Rev-Up 11-7's I have had such good luck with.. Well I found it.. The Thunder Tiger 11.3 X 6.5 works great.. This is the prop I was flying on the purple and white profile Shoestring at Brodaks. I didn't fly worth a hoot but the engine and airplane preformed perfectly. If you are looking for Saito 40 props this one is worth ordering...

Update on the TT props..

Seems as though the 11.3 X 6.5 has been back ordered for a while but are now back in stock. You can buy them two ways, single or in a package of 6.. They have also revamped the web site and the above link no longer works..

Single

6 pack

Hi Bob,

Have you tried a TopFlite Power Point 12x6?

Nope, most everything I have had a 40 on didn't have clearance for a 12 so everything I tried was an 11. The PP's I did try didn't have the vertical getty-up I was getting with a Rev-up. At first I thought the new Evolution 11-7 was going to work then I tried the Thunder Tiger and have pretty much decided I can quit looking.

Just lazy, I guess, but the APC 11-7 worked so well on my Saito .40 that I never bothered to search for something better . . .

Bob, have you ever tried any of the Master Airscrew Wood props.  Those that I tried in 10-6 and 11-5 range seemed to have a wider blade than any Top FLite's I have.    That 9-7 on my little OS is pulling the Cardinette with a lot of authority.  Thanks,  DOC Holliday
