Planning to build Box Car Chief. Have option to use Fox35 or Veco 35 series 100 which is the stunt friendly version.  Two questions: can I use R/C idle bar plug (Thunderbolt, or Glo-devil) without interfering with piston at TDC?  I know McCoy 35,RH wont take idle bar. Any suggestions for muffler for Veco? Planning same 100%,caster oil, 10% niro fuel as in Fox. Prop will be 10x5 wood or Thundertigre.
The for advice.

I have never seen a McCoy Red Head that would not take a Thunderbolt long R/C plug. Are you sure the head is on right? I have about 7 or 8 of them both 35's and 40's all with Thunderbolt long R/C plugs. I would think either the piston is in backwards, or the head is. The fence on the piston is apparently hitting the plug. I also run them in Foxes with no problem.

Hey Lyle, For what its worth...I've run Fox rc long plugs in my 35 & 40 Red Heads.  Mine have heads with the plug holes on the side of the baffle instead of directly over it. I know there are 4-5 heads with different plug locations too. My McCoy 36 SS has the plug hole centered directly over the baffle and the idle bar hits it just enough to bend the bar. I cut the bar off when using them in the SS.
