Set up for Ro-Jett 61 on header muffler

Hello everyone, I am seeking advice on the best set up for a Ro-Jett 61 fitted with a header muffler. Preferably running on a two four run. Usual 50/50 fuel with 5% nitro. What props, take off revs, venturi size, head shims etc etc seem to work best for you. Thanks for any input.

Glen.  I don't think there is any need to modify the RO-Jett 61.  This is an example of a "purpose-built" stunt engine that works best on a solid 2-cycle run with 13" and low-pitch prop.I haven't seen anyone try for a 2-4-2 break.

I run RoJetts on a pipe and manage to get a slight break in the runs. No changes necessary to the engine, just bolt on a header muffler, mount on a test stand, start with about a 12x4 APC prop and see how it runs. Don't mess with the set-up, as has been mentioned, RoJetts are optimized for stunt from the get-go. I have the best runs using 10% nitro, 17% synthetic and 5% castor fuel. The usualy 11/11 lube is too much castor for these engines.  8)

I agree with the guys.  There should really be nothing to change to run the header muffler.  ???

Hi Glen,
I run my RoJett 61, Brett Version, on pipe.  When I was flying a few weeks ago the header broke at the engine. The RoJett didn't seem to care she kept running is a nice sound and didn't seem to have any power lost?? I believe this engine could run anyway ya want to run her and you will have a winner?? I would say if ya want to run her on a muffler type set up, go for it. I also have the muffler for this engine. My brother bought the whole set up from Dub Jett and I just have never tried it on the tube muffler???

HI Glen,

Nice looking KA-10.  Which drawings did you use?

I had Eddie Taylor at Lazer Works cut me a short kit from the Model Aviation plans done by Tom Dixon.  I will be using a Discovery Retro .61 in mine.

How does it fly?

Hello, it was built from the Tom Dixon kit with false rib caps over a foam wing. It turns superbly and comes out of the corners really flat with no bobble. Does tend to wind up a bit in windy conditions but I find the best technique is to walk towards the model when this is happening.

Thank, Glen.  I am looking forward to being able to really get back to building soon and have my own version in the air. ;D  (at least I am 1/2 way through my cancer treatments, should be over in early March!)

I think I will basically copy Anatoly's paint scheme, maybe not "QUITE" as busy. ;D  The Discovery Retro .60 should be enough engine I think.
