Tigre 46 venturi size.
« on: November 28, 2006, 09:47:11 AM »
Hello all.
I´ve bought recently two Super Tigre 46 (mi first Tigres, by the way) who were unused from the eighties. Completely dismantled, bearings changed, rings known to be good, and test run showed a very powerfool 4 stroking (good sound for "release" at 9200 rpm with a Top Flite Power Point 11x6, on 25% (50-50) oil and 5% nitro.
All seems good, BUT, searching in the web for information I think stock venturies size was about 4 mm (.157 more or less) while mines both have .195 (5 mm.)
Is this venturi usable, or will have suction problems?
Has some of you made tests with ST 46 venturies?
As allways, thaks for your help and time.
Regards.
Manuel.

Hello Manuel

The  ST 46  came  with a  .157  venturie size, this is a little on the small  size, what works  best is  one  about .175.   The  .195 ones  you have  are  a little  large, and  you may get the  motor  to break too  hard  with that large of a venturie.  A .195 is  much larger  than a  .300  restrictor

Regards
Randy
