Areo tiger 36/ TT 36 engine What is the difference ?
« on: April 12, 2007, 11:18:27 PM »
I just picked up a Thunder tiger 36 pro. Is that the same engine as the Areo Tiger engine that everybody uses ? What mods are required to make it run like the real deal. I mean raise the ports .020 add a head shim ? How big a ventures ? That kind of thing top secret ? I guess that I am asking What can the average joebellcrank do to get a stunt run out of it. I cant turn the sleeve lip of anything like that but I can try opening up the ports or slimmer grinding mods. Do you need to fill the by pass port ? I know that randy is not going to give away ALL of his secrets here but , Can I do the mods required to get this thing to run a hard 4 stroke the way the areo tiger runs with out a machine shop or a 80 dollar rebuild maybe not. I just thought I would through it out there Randy . What do you think ?
Oh ....I see ,you mean the ones on a string ?

Hello Greg

The AERO Tiger is NOT a re timed or stuffed  Thunder Tiger, It is an engine that uses the Thunder Tiger case, and has a handmade AAC  cnc  piston\sleeve installed that is stunt timed to start with, You cannot make the stock Brass\nickle sleeve  the same timing as the AAC one.
It also has a modified head, balanced, blueprinted, has a true cnc venturie installed, PA NVA, new bearings.
I offer the Thunder Tiger 36 as a stunt engine also it is a re timed version with many of the other mods, They run very well... but there is nothing you can do to make it as good as an Aero Tiger.

Regards

Randy
