Ringed engine or ABC Engine??
« on: February 23, 2011, 02:17:58 PM »
Hi guys,
I'm sure this question has come up before but here we go. Does the ring engine makes as much power as the ABC engine??? Yes the same engine OS 40 fsr. I'm believe the ABC engine will last longer and maybe run higher RPM's???? If this is true about the RPM'S would this mean that the ABC Engine will product more power then the ringed engine??? I have the ABC Engine and she is great running on pipe, lots of power. I see a lot of the fsr engine on evil-bay and some of them sale at a reasonable price. I'm not sure this would be a good engine for competition but the class I fly it wouldn't matter what I used so when ya all come to the Great Golden State Contest you might have to hear one, ha ha. I also have some of the OS 46 SF Engines ABC and she seems to like running on pipe also. (I cheat I use the same pipe, just a different header.) I believe the ABC Engine is a lot better engine than a ringed engine and would appreciate your point of view.
Thank You
Gary

ABC/AAC or even ABN is better than ringed. Better power, better fuel economy, longer lifespan, and should vibrate less, since the piston should be lighter, all else being equal.  @@^ Steve

PS: You have too many engines already. Learn a few really well, and you'll be a happier camper.
