ST 46 tank height and tank shape question
« on: January 20, 2007, 07:20:22 AM »
Anyone remember how your tank ended up when you were running Tigre 46's?

I need to build a tank for my Nobler that is taller than the standard 1 inch because a 1 inch tank won't hold enough fuel. This means I will need to offset the uniflow tube in the tank for even inverted and upright runs. Would be a great help if someone remembered how much (or not) they had to shim a standard 1 inch tank.

Also, my thinking (could be wrong) is the uniflow should be more or less in line with the pickup tube. This makes me want to build a tank with the V offset from center like the drawing on the left. Otherwise the uniflow tube would need to be lower than the pickup tube and further inside the tank, drawing on right.

Thoughts?
