Randy, I'm using a tongue muffler with 3/32' holes that are tapped to 4-40 if I need to restrict it.
What other info do you need to be able to suggest gettin a consistant run??
The stock muffler will overheat the motor so the tongue is a good move
If on a profile vibration can make for bad engine runs, you have not told us what bad or inconsistent is/means
bad fuel will cause inconstant needle
Trying to run too much pitch can cause bad runs on this motor, many use the 11 x 4.5 Cyclone wet 2 on the ground and it will 4/2 Hi RPM in the air
Does the engine run OK for parts of the flight'
is it steady on the ground?
Does it jump into a 2 cycle and stay there?
what type tank? venting? pressure?
