Hello all:
For a side mounted ST46, what is the correct tank height?, please, refer to shaft line or venturi line, as they differ in these motors.

Last time I ran a ST 46 on a profile (Shameless) we had the tank set about 1/8th above the shaft centerline.  I would start out there.

H-m-m-m  That puts the C/L of the tank almost exactly in line with the C/L of the DeSaxe intake, doesn't it? Same setup for the Fox .35, which also has a DeSaxe (offset) intake. Does this mean that the tank C/L should (almost) always be aligned to the vertical center of the intake? Even on engines with a centered intake?

I recall some Fox engines in the 1950's that had a deSaxe cyinder offset, toward the exhaust side, but I never saw a Stunt 35 with choke offset as it was on certain ST engines.

The tank offset for sidewinder mounted Fox Stunt 35s just is, and there's no easy, obvious, evident reason explaining it. It just works.

Strange that the same offset in the same direction works for a sidewinder ST46... and thanks for that tip!

Thanks Walter and Lou for "straightening me out. The Fox Stunt .35 does indeed have a cylinder offset to the bypass side, while the ST .46 has the venturi offset to the exhaust side. Very curious, indeed, that the tank C/L location would be moved in the same direction to obtain consistent running upright and inverted . . .
