Apologies if this has been covered previously but I have an R/C LA46 (blue) ; I was planning to convert to stunt but was told that the timing is different on the r/c version : is this the case? Thanks

Timing is the same - put in a venturi and OS needle valve and you're all set.

One fine engine - no need to change anything but the above.

FWIW here at 2500 feet altitude my setup (works on the coast as well) I use an APC 12.25 x 3.75 prop, powermaster 10 - 22 with an extra 6 oz of castor added to the gallon. Uniflow tank, at home feild uses just under 4 oz, at contests out west, (less than 300 feet altitude) I tend to use 4.25 or a touch more fuel. The one thing I have fought is the fact that a couple hundred rpm low and it sucks fuel REALLY fast, a couple hundred fast and it will run all week. but if you get it right it is a very good solid performer.
For years the rat race had me going around in circles, Now I do it for fun!

I have seen successful set ups with the stock LA 46 using the 12.25 X 3.75 APC to wood 11-5s and a lot in between.  Very friendly engine and I think much better for stunt than the stock OS 40 LA.
