I have a Testers/McCoy 35 blackhead and could use a new head gasket. The engine runs and pulls my old heavy Ringmaster around but I feel it may be short on power. I think the head gasket leaks because fuel bubbles around the head and cylinder joint when the engine is hot. It runs for now and I will keep on using it until I can find a replacement gasket. The big question is..Does anyone know where I can find a new gasket for this old motor? This was my first big motor as a kid and I bought it with my Grit paper route money. Mail ordered it from Americas Hobby Center, New York City back in '79 or '80. Thanks!

Try this. They have lots of parts for old engines.

you can cut an adequate gasket from a pop can. Cut it up, flatten it out, and scribe the circles using a drafting compass with a sharp point in it. Go over the marks with an exacto #11 until the aluminum cuts through.

I never thought of that. What a simple and practical solution! I will remember that for next time. Thanks!

I have found that lots of time other 35 40 engine gaskets also fit. I have used OS gaskets in a variety of engines and they worked well... Food for thought...

Fox 35 head shims fit the Red Head 35s according to Sir Thomas of Luper.
They *should* fit the McCoy Series 21, too, then. I'll check........ IF I can remember to!
