Went flying today at Tacoma Narrows Muni. Airport. Pete Ferguson was there with a newly repaired Profile CardinARF. In place of the Brodak .40 (now in his kit built Vector 40) was a .40LA. We ran it once and as it held a setting nicely, #2 was in the air, with a Thunder Tiger Cyclone 11x4.5. Worked sweet! At least give it a try...
Pete started out with a Randy Aero tongue muffler, but the model needed a tad of nose weight. Before he could bolt on the stock OS muffler, I pulled out a new Randy Aero tube muffler...sounded great, decently quiet, ran good, and it was just the right CG change needed....very noticeable on glide & landing. Pay attention to the glide!
Anyway, the Cyclone 11x4.5 is a real good prop for: Brodak .40, Magnum XLS .36, and OS .40LA. Maybe for a Thunder Tiger Pro .36 or GP .40/.42??? Anybody use it on other engines with good results?
