Is any one running a Merco 61 ?

I would like to know more about this engine Stunt characteristics and craftsmanship.

They run Good but are 1.5 ounce heaver than a St.60

I“ve used Merco 35, 49-50 and 61 in competition during several years with complete satisfaction, Merco 35 is approx 1,5 oz heavier than a Fox, too, but they are mild, easy to use and with a flat torque and lovable break.
Just adjust the nose lenght while biulding your stunter!!!
Tom Dixon has huge experience with them in both Classic and F2B flying.
I like these engines.

The one on the RSM website a few weeks ago was a Russian (or Ukraine) copy of the old Merco .61, and it said so. I would expect it to be a good stunt engine if the weight doesn't bother you. It might be lighter, if it's made as an AAC, but I don't remember, not being particularly interested in more .60's.

The new RM .61 (got an introductory email last week or so) is a bigger version of the "Metamorph" .40 that Ted and Brett rave about. I heard the .61 is in the 10.5 oz bracket with side/rear exhaust, and I think it's twin ball bearing, while the .40 is a sleeve bearing. Pete Peterson told me which stunt engine specialist makes them, but I forgot.  f~ Steve

Hi. I do have a new Metamorph 61 out, 12.5oz. with silencer, AAC T/R type construction. It sells for £135, about $254 at today's rate, inc. airpost.

I have one each of the 'Rustler' Merco's.
I noticed that RSM now are selling both of them.
a) The Black one.
    A little bit heavy but Very nice running and fairly powerful.
        Also a little to noisy with the original muffler (x'use me Ian) but any ST .61 type     
    muffler will fit. All in all a very reliable engine with a nice 4-2-4 break.
b) The new Metamorph. Lighter and also (at least it feels ) some more power.
     I have not  ran it very much but it has no problems pulling a 62 Oz. Intrepid XL.
     Will get a proper setup when spring arrives here in Norway.
     It seems so far a little 'hot blooded' so i will ask Ian if he can fit a muffler pressure
     nipple for me. (I have had good results using muffler pressure on my PA .61
)
They both fit in a standard St .61 mounting used by PA , Stalker etc...
Also the Metamorph can be both side and rear exaust.

I think the one you are referring to is a Danish guy:
Flemming Pedersen. (I am Norwegian).
I think i met him once at a competition in Sweden.
